Working with children as a volunteer can be extremely rewarding. The thanks you will receive will often be subtle, but the academic and social accomplishments that you help nurture, the precious emotional bonds you forge with the Club participants, and the staff's genuine feelings of gratitude will ensure you a successful volunteer experience with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento.

There are many ways in which individuals and groups can volunteer at the club.  If you are planning on volunteering in a sustained way and working with children (such as tutoring or running programs) we require that you go through an orientation and pass a criminal background check.

If you are with a group or you are interested in volunteering on a time-specific project (such as a club clean up, a one-time event with the club members, at a club-sponsored special event, etc.) you will not be required to take a background check.  When you submit your application or call to speak with the Office Manager, please let us know your interests.

Do you have any special skills or talents? Share your passion with our club members!
