We empower youth one accomplishment, one program, and one mentor at a time to build great futures
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento fills the gap between school and home. We provide a safe, positive environment in which kids and teens have fun, participate in life-changing programs, and build supportive relationships with peers and caring adults. There were countless success stories in our Clubs this year – from mastering a new literacy skill to landing a first job. As an organization, we charted our site in Rancho Cordova, opened our North Laguna Branch, and broke ground on our SMUD Field of Dreams at our Teichert Branch. A key success for us this year was opening our North Laguna Branch because it represents the best kind of partnership. One that started with a dream of Councilmember Larry Carr, gained support from community organizations and individuals, and ended with a beautiful Club filled, year-round, with 60 kids building great futures.
And there are more partnerships in the works to expand our reach because with each additional kid we able to empower, we are creating cycles of opportunity within our neighborhoods, our communities, and the region at large.
Every day our Club kids amaze and inspire us – their excitement for learning, willingness to lift up their peers, and determination to define their own success, demonstrates that our community’s investment in our youth has put the Sacramento region on path to a great future. All of us at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento are incredibly grateful for our passionate and dedicated supporters, without whom, none of this work would be possible. Please stop by one of our Clubs, any time, and see this impact in person!
“Although I have big dreams of being a fashion designer and audio engineer, it all starts with completing 7th grade. Thanks to the Club, I’m able to get my homework done and finish my assignments on time. I also want to go to college so I can set an example for my younger brother” – Royalty, age 12
