Thanksgiving drive-thru provides a feast
November 2021
This year's Thanksgiving Drive-thru not only provided a feast for Club families but was a true representation of the power of community partnership. With support from the Sacramento Kings, Sacramento Sheriff's Department, and Raley's, we had nearly 400 turkeys to give away! Club families drove through the event to also pick up sides, desserts, and board games for the whole family to enjoy. A huge thank you to everyone who helped kick off the Holiday Season with so much fun!

Club Alum Kane Brown VIP treatment
October 2021
Award-winning singer and songwriter Kane Brown is one of the many impressive Boys & Girls Club Alumni who is giving back to youth across the country. Kane Brown selected 15 teens to join him at his concert at the Golden 1 Center in October for his Blessed & Free tour. Club teens and staff dined at Yard House to make the evening extra special before heading to the concert to enjoy the show from amazing seats. Thank you Kane Brown and Boys & Girls Clubs of America for making it all possible! This was a special experience that our teens will always remember!

More than a video game tournament
September 2021
Samantha, a 6th grader at our North Laguna Branch, is a very competitive kid. She loves playing video games, especially in the Smash Bros Friday tournaments at the Club. Samantha is easily the best player and definitely enjoys winning. But she makes sure that she wins graciously and does everything she can to make sure that the other Club members feel good about their own skills. Samantha also helps the younger kids with the game and she tries to help her peers get better by teaching them the special tips and tricks she knows. And if she does lose a game, she congratulates her opponent and cheers on the other kids still left in the tournament. These small moments of caring and leadership add up to great impact for Samantha and her friends at the Club.

A new look thanks to Lowe's Heroes
August 2021
Just in time for the new school year, the floors at our Teichert Branch got a much-needed update. A team of 14 Lowe's associates, managers, and professional installers from 7 different stores swooped in and got to work replacing worn-out carpet with brand new carpet and luxury vinyl in our games room, classrooms, library, and computer lab - over 6,000 square feet! "It's just amazing! I can't wait to have our Club kids come back to a brand-new looking Clubhouse," exclaimed CEO Kimberly Key. "Everyone from Lowe's has been great to work with. The transformation of our space is stunning. We are so incredibly grateful!"

Sactown court of dreams
August 2021
Sacramento Kings rookies came out to our Raley Teen Center to give the freshly renovated basketball court a try. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to repair, refinish, and restripe our gym floor so it's ready for a new school year of basketball and fun! A huge thank you to the LISC/ESPN Home Court Program and Miyamoto International for supporting this exciting project. Not only is our new basketball court beautiful, but it also reflects the pride our teens have for our Raley Teen Center and the Greater Sacramento community.

Back 2 School Bash
July 2021
We had a blast at our Back 2 School event at our Sierra Vista Club in Stockton - playing games, filling up backpacks full of school supplies, and providing a Taco Bell meal. This event is not only an important part of setting kids up for a successful school year, this year's event was the culminating project of our Bank of America Student Leader interns. We're looking forward to seeing Club youth back in the classroom and not just having a good school year, but a great one!

Summer Under the Sea
July 2021
Summer is all about making new friends, playing, and having fun. And at the Boys & Girls Club, that's exactly what we do! This year, Club staff supported summer school at two elementary school campuses in Sacramento, providing kids the opportunity to learn while having fun with STEM projects, art, and outdoor games. We had a blast! One parent commented, "the best part was the excitement of my daughter. She comes home with a new story to tell me about summer camp every day. Thank you!"

Rise & Row Together
May 2021
Our first in-person program at our Sierra Vista - Stockton Club is called Rise & Row Together! In partnership with Dignity Health and Delta Sculling Center, 25 Stockton youth are learning the fundamentals of rowing. This program is also a key part of how Club youth are learning healthy habits such as eating healthy foods, reducing stress through exercise, and having fun by getting active. This program is just one example of the impact our Stockton community can make for keeping youth healthy and happy!
